Work continues on the 2017 Hyundai Equus as our spies have
caught the model undergoing hot weather testing in the United States.
While we've already seen the
car on several different occasions, the latest batch of spy photos gives us a
pretty good glimpse at the interior. As you can see, Hyundai
is really stepping up their game as the cabin is downright luxurious as it
boasts perforated leather seats with contrasts piping. The sedan also has
elegant wood trim, metallic accents and higher quality switchgear. Other
notable highlights include a Lexicon audio system, heated / ventilated rear
seats and Audi A8-inspired wood and metallic trim on the rear seatbacks.
The front passenger
compartment is heavily camouflaged but features a two-tone leather-wrapped
steering wheel and an infotainment system with a wide display. We can also see a redesigned center console
and a steering-wheel mounted shifter.
Hyundai has been tight-lipped
about the model but it will likely be powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that
develops at least 420 bhp (313 kW) and 383 lb-ft (518 Nm) of torque. It will be
connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which can be paired to a
newly optional all-wheel drive system.
