Hyundai Named To 2015 Military Friendly Employer List

Hyundai Motor America has been recognized by Victory Media, Inc., a veteran-owned business, as a 2015 Military Friendly Employer for its long-term commitment to hiring and recruiting former military members. Hyundai also has policies for Guard and Reserve members called to active duty, where upon completion of service, members will be reinstated to either their former or another position within the company.

Hyundai currently employs about 1,000 veterans in the United States, across its corporate headquarters, dealerships and manufacturing plant in Alabama.  Utilizing Hyundai's proprietary website HyundaiCareers.com, dealers hired more than 230 veterans since January 2013.

"Hyundai has the greatest respect for military veterans and appreciates their sacrifices for our country," said Dave Zuchowski, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America.  "Hyundai is committed to work one-on-one with service members to assist them with the transition into the civilian workplace, and we will continue to invite veterans to share and participate in Hyundai's vision and growth."

There are approximately 5,000 companies eligible for the 2015 Military Friendly Employers List, but only 3 percent earn the honor.  The rankings are based on a survey of more than 100 questions that assess a company's recruiting efforts, including policies, number of years on the list, Guard and Reserve member policies, retention, and internal programs and community outreach. The survey results were scored independently by Ernst & Young, LLP.  Victory Media, Inc. publishes its annual survey-driven lists in G.I. Jobs, Military Spouse and Vetrepreneur magazines.
