ARK
Performance has been building Hyundai
show cars for SEMA for several years and this year is no different. The tuner
is bringing the 2015 Hyundai
Genesis
AR550 sedan to the 2014 SEMA show complete with engine, chassis, and cosmetic
upgrades. Highlighting the build is a supercharger that bumps the 5.0-liter
V-8’s output to over 500 hp.
The
supercharger and supporting hardware bring the stock 5.0-liter V-8’s power
rating up from 420 hp to 550 hp. In addition to the Rotrex supercharger, the
2015 Genesis AR550 sedan
gains ARK Performance pieces including a cold air intake, downpipes, high-flow
catted test pipe, GRiP exhaust system, race spec driveshaft, and AR Line carbon
engine cover. The engine management system has been tuned to work with the
supercharger and other performance parts.
Handling
improvements come by way of ARK Performance sourced front strut reinforcement
bar, stiffer front and rear sway bars, and knuckles and control arms. An Airrex
air suspension system works with the ARK bits. The 2015 Hyundai Genesis AR550 sedan rides on
a set of ARK lightweight forged alloy wheels wrapped in Nitto Tire NT05 summer
tires. A Brembo brake kit on both axles handles stopping duties.
As with
other SEMA show cars, the Genesis AR550
sedan features cosmetic upgrades. An AR Aero package from Infinite Auto design
includes wide front and rear bumpers with carbon fiber accents to match the
widebody front and rear fenders, carbon fiber side skirts, and trunk lid. Other
exterior pieces include crystal projector headlights and exterior welcoming
lighting. Inside, the Genesis AR550 sedan features Katzkin custom diamond
stitched seats and door panels.
The
2015 Hyundai Genesis AR550 sedan is the
sixth Hyundai ARK Performance
has built for SEMA. Past builds include the Veloster Turbo Alpine concept and
the Genesis Coupe Legato
concept.
