Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell Acknowledged At Climate Resolve's Annual Gala

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Climate Resolve, a nonprofit dedicated to meeting the challenges of climate change, recognized Hyundai and its Tucson Fuel Cell electric vehicle at their annual L.A.'s Great Future gala. The Tucson Fuel Cell was acknowledged for being the first mass-produced fuel cell in the U.S. market, bringing a zero-emission and sustainable energy transportation solution to California residents.

"Zero-emission vehicles play a major role in meeting America's sustainable energy goals," said Jonathan Parfrey, founder and executive director, Climate Resolve. "By making the Tucson Fuel Cell available to everyday consumers, Hyundai is taking the first steps in finding a long-term solution to energy independence, clean air, and the availability of zero-emission vehicles."

Climate Resolve is L.A.'s leading climate change organization. They inspire Los Angeles to meet the challenge of climate change by downscaling the global issue and placing it at the heart of people's lives. Climate Resolve makes climate change personal and relevant by championing the latest science and winning solutions at the neighborhood level, bringing real and lasting changes to the city of Los Angeles.

"By offering the very first mass-produced fuel cell in the U.S., Hyundai is playing a proud and integral role in L.A.'s great future," said Mike O'Brien, vice president of corporate and product planning, Hyundai Motor America. "Hyundai has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in hydrogen fuel cell testing and development over the past 15 years. With the launch of our Tucson Fuel Cell, a true zero-emission, no-compromise, sustainable energy vehicle is now available to U.S. consumers."

The Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell became available to the U.S. market in June. For the first time, retail consumers can put a mass-produced, federally-certified hydrogen fuel cell vehicle in their driveways, with availability at three select southern California Hyundai dealers: Win Hyundai in Carson, Tustin Hyundai, and Hardin Hyundai in Anaheim. The vehicle maintains the day-to-day flexibility of the gasoline-powered Tucson, so that its driver is able to immediately enjoy the next generation of electric vehicles without range or recharge-time compromises to their lifestyle.

Since Hyundai car dealerships are acknowledging fuel cell issues when it comes to climate changes is really quiet something. This is not something that a lot of people know about, but the fact that they are doing so much to solve this is amazing. They want what is best for their products that are going out to their clients.
